Safety

Nothing is more important to us than your safety. We go the distance to make sure that you and other water users enjoy themselves safely. All our instructors are highly qualified and our boats subject to the most stringent safety testing.

All our large School Training Ribs have full commercial coding, which means they carry all the equipment they would need in an emergency situation. It's also school policy for instructors to undergo a daily risk assessment to ensure they are fully briefed on the prevailing weather and tidal information.

Salcombe Powerboat School safety measures:

  • Instructor on board at all times
  • Maximum teaching ratio 3:1
  • Lifejackets worn throughout the course
  • Full safety briefing sessions
  • All instructors are qualified first aiders
  • Medical screening for students prior to training
  • Full emergency kit carried by instructors during 'own boat' training
  • The school has full comprehensive insurance cover
